MC3 Apprentice Readiness Program
The San Joaquin Building Trades Council partners with ValleyBuild to offer a 6-week, full-time apprenticeship readiness program. This course will prepare individuals to apply to one of our 19 apprenticeship programs.
Our program is registered with the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards and includes the North America’s Building Trades Unions’ Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3).​​
Next Class Tentatively Scheduled for Spring 2026
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The program covers basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction math, blueprint reading, soft skills, job readiness, and other skills to prepare participants to apply to a joint apprenticeship program.
Students receive industry-recognized credentials, including OSHA-10, CPR/RedCross, Forklift, and MC3. The program also includes presentations from trade union affiliates and field trips to affiliate training centers.

PLACEMENT SUPPORT
In partnership with San Joaquin County Worknet, participants receive resume, job search and job placement assistance.​​
